Typically, a Pre-Engineered Building is made of three distinctive parts:

  • Primary framing members (columns and rafters) which are tapered or constant depth built-up “I” section;
  • Secondary structural members which are light weight cold-formed “Z” and “C” shaped members or open web steel joists;

  • Roll formed profiled sheeting (roof and wall panels).

How can the designers combine these buildings specificities and the LPS standards requirements to optimize both the safety and the cost efficiency? This is the purpose of these well documented technical guidelines with practical solutions for Designers and Contractors.
