The advanced Early Streamer Emission lightning rod Prevectron3 has been recently fitted on the Abierto Mexicano tennis stadium in Acapulco – Mexico. Acapulco hosts a major ATP500 tournament. It attracts more than 50,000 fans and shall welcome the tennis legend Rafael Nadal from Feb 21 to 26, 2022, in a brand-new arena.

This new example illustrates the advantages of Early Streamer Emission lightning rods. As per football  stadium, baseball, crickets or motor racing infrastructures, tennis open-court stadium are severly exposed. Lightning risks are major : large dimensions (ie. large collection area), crowd concentration, direct lightning exposure, economic costs in case of incidents (lighting systems damages, TV equipents etc…).

Risk are extremely high and meshed cage design are not suitable for such structures. For 40 years, the Early Streamer Emission (ESE) rods are providing a reliable and safe solution. Moreover, the last generation of IoT connected rods Prevectron3 Connect adds new features: the condition of the system is monitored 24/24 to ensure its full operation capabilities.
