Fair Planet donation following Turkey and Syria earthquakes
On 6 February 2023, a Mw 7.8 earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria. The epicenter was 37 km (23 mi) west–northwest of Gaziantep. It was followed by a Mw 7.7 earthquake . This earthquake was centered 95 km (59 mi) north-northeast from the first. There was widespread damage and tens of thousands of fatalities (more than 50 000 casualties officially recorded).
Facing such disaster, and thanks to the support of Indelec Group local partner, Fair Planet association made the decision to urgently unlock financial donation. The transfer has been directed to a local Turkish association. It is dedicated to the distribution of food to the refugees and homeless, following the earthquake massive destructions.
Such urgent financial support is part of Fair Planet DNA: the association created and managed by Indelec staff has been founded after the 2005 Asia Tsunami to collect and distribute money for reconstruction projects. More recently, urgent donation was also allocated to Indonesia (landslides disaster).
