Site specifications
Indelec solution
Technical specifications for such sites are extremely detailed and demanding. Indelec advanced lightning risk management and Prevectron unequaled reliability met such requirements.
OVHCloud Roubaix4 new datacenter is equipped with the latest generation of Prevectron3 Early Streamer Emission lightning rods. The Connect models provide OVHCloud maintenance team with a 24/24 access to each lightning air terminal. Engineers can monitor in real time these data together with other sensitive equipment such as power supply and servers cooling systems.
Indelec engineering team designed a specific isolated lightning protection system in order to limit the electromagnetic radiations in case of lightning discharge : the Prevectron3 Connect lightning rods are mounted on isolated self-standing high poles, away from the buildings : during a thunderstorm, buildings are protected from direct lightning discharge and the lightning current (several thousands of Amperes) will be safely conducted to earthing terminations far away from the servers.
Lastly, specific attention has been paid to low resistant earthing pit (less than 5 ohms) and equipotential bonding of all the metallic structures on site.
